Hilton Brand Enters Latin America

Home2 Suites by Hilton announced today the opening of its first location outside of the United States, marking its entry into Latin America. 

The new location, Home2 Suites by Hilton Queretaro, Mexico, will be the brand's 24th hotel. 

"Expanding our footprint internationally is a milestone achievement for a young brand like Home2 Suites," Bill Duncan, global head, Home2 Suites by Hilton, said in the announcement. "Queretaro's centralized location in Mexico and its mix of business and leisure attractions make it an ideal location for Home2 Suites to enter the Latin American market."

Mexico has been on the radar of hotel investors as the market is poised for growth. In the summer, Hyatt Hotels announced its entry into the all-inclusive segment, with the first two locations opening in Mexico this year. 

Also in the summer, Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced plans to increase its Mexico portfolio by 30 percent. 

Memphis,Tenn-based Home2 Suites is the fastest growing brand in the history of Hilton Worldwide, according to the company. The brand is based on a mid-tier, extended-stay hotel concept, offering "flexible guest room configurations and inspired amenities for the cost-conscious guest," the company states.

The four-story, 97-suite hotel in Mexico is located at Gasa de Incorporación a Carretera Q.  It is owned by Inmobiliaria Canel's S.A. de C.V. and managed by Hilton Worldwide. 

Along with common amenities, all of the hotel's suites will feature queen or king beds, a work area with ergonomic chair by Humanscale, and a fully accessorized kitchen. The hotel's common area will include an expanded common area, along with the "Home2 MKT for grab-and-go items; the 'Inspired Table' complimentary breakfast; and Spin2 Cycle, a combined laundry and fitness area."
